BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Environmental Compliance Supervisor position is responsible for overseeing the Air Quality Program (AQP) within the Environmental Health Division. This role is responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties: supervising staff; interviewing and selecting employees; ensuring appropriate training of staff; planning, prioritizing, and budgeting for the AQP; supervising the implementation of special projects; providing oversight and guidance to staff conducting routine field work and inspections. This position requires knowledge of Federal, State, and local regulations and policies concerning air quality as well as knowledge of supervisory principles. This is a public-facing position that will represent the AQP and public health department at relevant community, public, and/or commission meetings and will address air quality-related community concerns from residents and stakeholders. This position also requires presenting and/or sending reports internally at the Health Department and throughout the Unified Government, and externally to the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) and/or the community-at-large.
Qualifications:
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in environmental health, Community Health, Public health, Engineering, or a related field and three years of environmental compliance or pretreatment inspection experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
