Several full-time positions available with the Aviation Department, Airport Police Division, located at 1 International Square. 

Normal Work Days/Hours: Varies based on operational needs, mandatory overtime may be required

Job Responsibilities:

• Enforces critical laws, rules, and regulations to protect the property and people at the airport.

• Manages vehicular and pedestrian traffic across bustling airport facilities, keeping everything running smoothly.

• Responds to high-stakes crash, fire, and emergency situations, providing lifesaving first aid in moments of need.

• Screens passengers and luggage to detect dangerous weapons, explosives, or hazardous materials to keep everyone safe.

• Collaborates with agencies, dignitaries, and large crowds, handling everything from bomb threats to preventing theft and vandalism, always ensuring safety.

REQUIRES high school graduation. Must be at least 21 years of age. Must possess a valid state-issued driver's license in accordance with City of KCMO policies. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, post-offer physical examination, and psychological evaluation as prescribed by the City. Must successfully complete a 10-year FAA background check. Must be able to obtain a Class A P.O.S.T certification within six (6) months of employment. Must be eligible to obtain a special police commission as issued by the KCMO Police Department.
