The Clay County Tourism Department has an opportunity for two students to gain real-world experience in a fun and fast-paced environment this summer. 

Our Social Media Internship will assist with with creating and posting on our social sites throughout the summer. Clay County has many summer events and points of interest to highlight to visitors and locals. This position is for someone with a creative eye who can design captivating photos and reels while maintaining brand consistency. There will be a minimum requirement of three (3) posts per week for the duration of the internship. Additional design tasks may be required. We may also require that the intern provide field coverage of specific events and/or gather photos and videos for social media projects. This project will need an individual that is responsible, takes initiative on projects, possesses clear communication skills, has a sense of creativity, and submit posts in a timely manner.

Our Website Maintenance/Content Creation Internship will assist with the building out of pages for a new Jesse James website. Much of the content will be available to pull over from the existing website to the new site in a widget-based WordPress website. This project will require very little “developer/coding” skills, but will need an induvial that is responsible, takes initiative on projects, possesses clear communication skills, has a sense of creativity, and able to meet an August 2025 deadline. The intern may also be asked to assist us with the build-out of our Cuseum software for the museum. Most of this will entail content entry that will be provided by our Historic Sites team. 

These internships offer $14.00 per hour with the Intern working independently, once initial expectations are set up and maintained, and providing weekly progress updates to their supervisor.
