Clay County Missouri’s Facility Maintenance Office seeks a dynamic, passionate, innovative leader to serve as its Facility Manager. The Facility Manager is tasked with leading, planning, managing, supervising, and evaluating a comprehensive program designed to deliver efficiency while maximizing taxpayer dollars in the care of Clay County’s buildings and grounds. This individual will include providing general supervision over professional and technical staff, establishing staff priorities then allocating personnel resources, and maintaining the integrity of the county’s buildings and grounds ensuring preventive, corrective and emergency work on a wide variety of structures and systems is completed timely.

The ideal candidate is familiar with construction methods and materials, knowledge of building codes and statutory law, bachelor’s degree in related field, and the ability to interpret plans and specifications for construction projects and analyze issues. The candidate will also need to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, interpretation and application of rules, regulations, and policies; and be able to handle detailed and stressful situations. 

The employee will receive an annual salary, DOE, of $85,000 - $90,000 with a benefits package that includes two defined benefit retirement plans fully funded by the County and a deferred-compensation plan with a match on the first 4% contributed. We also offer three medical plans including two high deductible plans, dental, vision, two flexible spending accounts, and supplemental plans. Full-time employees are also offered life insurance (2X annual salary) paid by the County, paid vacation/sick leave, 14 paid holidays, LTD and tuition reimbursement.
