The Clay County, Missouri Prosecutor’s Office is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Assistant Prosecuting Attorney III to join our growing team. This challenging and rewarding role involves managing complex criminal cases from inception through trial, representing the State in a wide range of legal proceedings. Responsibilities include preparing and presenting cases, conducting negotiations, and litigating in court. Opportunities exist for the candidate to demonstrate strong leadership and strategic thinking skills to help lead initiatives related to policy oversight and data governance to enhance office accountability, transparency, and operational efficiency.

Must hold a Juris Doctorate (J.D) degree from ABA-accredited law school, a valid license to proactive law in Missouri, a valid driver’s license, and vehicle insurance. This candidate will need to be able to work independently as well as collaborate with co-workers, law enforcement, clerks and judges in a fast-paced environment. Effective time management skills with the ability to multitask are preferred. Familiarity with PROSECUTORbyKarpel (PbK) case management system is preferred but not required.

We offer a highly competitive salary commensurate with experience and a comprehensive benefits package.
