Elected officials are in the midst a challenging time to be in public service. We are so polarized that no matter what you do and what your motivations, you are likely going to feel beat up. In that setting it can be hard to accomplish the things that motivated you to run for office in the first place. However, there is good news! There are some basic principles you can implement to operate at a higher level and if you do you will become more successful in accomplishing your agenda. These strategies are the same regardless of the issue, what you believe about the issue, or what other council members believe. You are not alone. There is a path forward!
MARC is partnering with Strategic Government Resources (SGR) to provide this dynamic leadership training for city and county elected officials in our region. The session is designed to provide elected officials with the opportunity to network and participate in a discussion on how to be effective in their roles within local government. City and county managers are encouraged to attend with their elected representatives.
Dinner will be served, and the training format will emphasize small group discussion to create ample opportunities for peer interaction. Space is limited so register today!
